A limited number of e-bike rebate vouchers are available every other month. Rebate vouchers are upfront discounts on the sale price of an e-bike from a participating bike shop.

Process to Get a Rebate Voucher
- Go to denverclimaterebates.com., and register as a new user. You will receive a verification code email from APTIM. Please allow up to 10 minutes to receive the email. Make sure to check the spam and junk folders!
- Once you receive your verification code email, please enter your code and complete the online application. The application requires:
- Your name
- Address
- Contact info
- 1-2 uploads (file size limit is 5MB). Have your proof of residency and income-qualified documentation ready to upload. See “Participant Eligibility” above for more information.
- Please allow up to 14 business days for the initial review of your application. Once approved, you will receive an email from APTIM. This email will have an e-bike voucher code. Please present the voucher code at the bike shop during your purchase.
Types of Rebate Vouchers
- Standard Rebate: Denver residents can save up to $300 on an e-bike.
- Income-Qualified Rebate: Income-qualified individuals can save up to $1,200 on an e-bike.
- Adaptive Rebate: Disabled individuals may be eligible for a $1,400 rebate on an adaptive e-bike.
Participant Eligibility
Standard Rebate
To be eligible for an e-bike rebate voucher, applicant must be a Denver, CO resident and be 16+ years old. Proof of a physical Denver address is required. Please make sure all documents are within one year of application. Examples:
- CO Driver's License
- Computer Generated Bill (utility, credit card, doctor, hospital, etc.)
- Bank Statement
- Printed Pay Stub
- First-Class Mail (from a government agency or court)
- Current Homeowner's, Renter's, or Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy
- Mortgage, Lease or Rental Contract
- Transcript or Report Card from an Accredited School
- Motor Vehicle Registration
- DD214
Income-Qualified Rebate
Household income must meet one of the following:
- < 60% of Colorado's median income,
- < 200% of relevant federal poverty level, or
- < 80% of area median income.
Confirm eligibility by one of these income documents:
- Proof of enrollment in Energy Outreach Colorado’s Colorado Affordable Residential Energy Program (CARE)
- Proof of enrollment in Xcel Energyincome-qualified demand side management program
- Proof of enrollment in Xcel Energy’s income-qualified Community Solar Gardens Program
- Proof of enrollment in the Denver Property Tax Relief Program
- Proof of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
- Proof of Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Proof of Old Age Pension (OAP)
- Cover page of last year's Form 1040
- Your Form SSA-1099
Adaptive Rebate
The applicant must meet one of the criteria below. Please verify in writing by a Professional*.
- Mobility: Individuals who cannot walk 200 ft without stopping.
- Assisted Mobility: Individuals who cannot walk without assistance from, a brace, crutch, prosthetic device, wheelchair, or other assistive device.
- Respiratory: Individuals restricted by lung disease with forced expiratory volume for one second below 1 liter, or arterial oxygen tension below 60 mm/hg on room air or at rest.
- Oxygen: Individuals use portable oxygen.
- Cardiac: Individuals with Class III or IV cardiac conditions as classified by American Heart Association standards.
- Other: Individuals severely limited in their ability to walk due to an arthritic, neurological, or orthopedic condition.
* "Professional" means a physician licensed to practice medicine or practicing medicine pursuant to section 12-36-106 (3) (i), C.R.S. (i) the performance by commissioned medical officers of the armed forces of the United States of America or of the United States public health service or of the United States veterans administration of their lawful duties in this state as such officers. A physician assistant licensed pursuant to section 12-36-107.4, C.R.S., a podiatrist licensed under article 32 of title 12, C.R.S., an advanced practice nurse registered pursuant to section 12-38-111.5, C.R.S., or a physician, physician assistant, podiatrist, or advanced practice nurse authorized to practice professionally by another state that shares a common border with Colorado.
E-bike Eligibility
- All classes of e-bikes
Class 1: a low-speed pedal-assisted electric bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that stops providing assistance when the bicycle reaches 20 mph.
Class 2: an electrical assisted bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance regardless of whether the rider is pedaling but stops providing assistance when the bicycle reaches 20 mph.
Class 3: an electrical assisted bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that stops providing assistance when the bicycle reaches 28 mph.
- Must have 2 or 3 wheels and fully operable pedals
- Motor must be 750 watts or less
- Not gas-powered
- Full-suspension mountain bikes are excluded from the program
